Privacy Policy: Queens Puzzle: Free Them All / Queens Puzzle: Game of Crowns
This policy covers the game published by Ginger Cat (Ginger Cat Works, Eindhoven, the Netherlands; “we”, “us”) as Queens Puzzle: Free Them All on Windows and in the Microsoft Store and as Queens Puzzle: Game of Crowns on Google Play (“the game”). Inside the game it is called Queens Puzzle: Free Them All on every platform.
The short version
The game does not collect personal information, and we receive nothing from it. It has no account, no sign-in, no ads or ad SDK, no analytics or tracking services and no server of its own. Your progress stays on your device. The game sends nothing by itself. When you tap Contact or a share option, it opens your e-mail app, or the app or site you chose, with text the game prepared (the game's name and version, or the result and challenge text). You decide whether to send or post it.
What the game stores, and where
The game saves your progress (solved puzzles and times, the Daily streak, the current puzzle) and your settings (language, theme, pieces, sound and gameplay options) in the game's own data folder on your device. The game also keeps one local recovery copy of your progress: a backup file next to the save file that holds the save from before the latest one. If the save file is damaged, the game loads that copy instead. This data never leaves your device through the game, and we cannot see it.
- Windows: the data stays in the game's folder in your user profile (AppData). Uninstalling the game on Windows may not remove every file: saves, recovery copies and saved pictures can stay on your device, and you can delete them yourself.
- Android: the data, including the last share picture, stays in the game's private app storage. The game turns Android's app backup off, so this data is not copied to a cloud backup. Clearing the game's storage in Android Settings, or uninstalling the game, deletes it.
On Windows only, the game reads the computer's device identifier once each time it starts. It uses that identifier just to build the encryption key for a small local file that the shared code uses to record a purchase. The identifier is never sent anywhere and is not stored in that file. This free Windows release never reads or writes that file. Android does not read the identifier.
Information we collect
None from the game itself. The game does not collect or send your name, e-mail address, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifiers or usage statistics. The game contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no such service receives data from the game. They contain no remote crash-reporting service, so the game itself sends no crash reports. The only device identifier it reads is the Windows one described above, and it stays on your device. On Android the game asks for no permissions: not internet access, not storage, not contacts, not location. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us by e-mail (see Contact).
Sharing your results
The result screen has share buttons. Nothing is shared unless you tap one, and you can play without ever sharing. On Android, a short grown-up check (a multiplication question) comes before any share button or link opens.
- WhatsApp and X open that app or its web link in your browser, with a short message the game prepared (your solve time and a challenge code). The message is part of that link, so it reaches that site when the page opens; nothing is posted until you send it yourself.
- Copy link puts the same message on your clipboard.
- Share picture / More (Android): the game makes a picture of your result and keeps it in the game's private app storage, until the next picture you share replaces it. For the share it makes a temporary copy in its own cache and opens Android's share menu. Only the app you pick gets permission to read that one picture. The game deletes cached copies older than one day the next time you share.
- Picture shares on Windows: the game copies the message to your clipboard and saves the result picture in a folder named after the game in your Pictures folder. If Windows reports no Pictures folder at all, it saves the picture in a shares folder inside the game's data folder instead. The game also keeps its working copy of the picture in its data folder and replaces it the next time you share a picture.
A challenge code contains only the puzzle number and a solve time. The message and the picture contain no personal information. Once you send them in another app, that app's own privacy policy applies to what it does with them.
Other links
Links in the game (for example the contact e-mail or this policy) open in your e-mail app or browser only when you tap them. The site or app that opens has its own privacy policy.
Purchases
The game has no in-app purchases. If a later version offers one, the purchase is handled entirely by the platform store (the Microsoft Store or Google Play) under its own privacy policy; we would receive no payment details. This policy will be updated before that happens.
Children
The game is made for all ages, including children. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children. On Android, links out of the game and sharing sit behind the grown-up check described above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new “Last updated” date.
